Belonging to a past period comparatively close to the present, the customer asked for solution in order for them to meet their desire to provide proven application to various open platforms such Linux and Unix.
The Recent Situation
Most of the IBM midrange customers have quested the counsel of IBM Global Services in an attempt to provide their AS/400-based application on different operating system like Linux. Since other IT experts are satisfied with the platform's stability and the application's performance, majority of the customer, end-users and trading partners were seeking modernized alternatives.
Because they really want to meet the needs of their customers and since they are the manufacturer of AS/400 and iSeries platforms, they were forced to come up on idea to eventually meet the main objective. Their customer sought their assistance in helping them in executing their software on Linux or AIX. To meet this highly demands of the customers, they looked for several options.
